Kissinger says Obama will change Regime in Iran if the coup fails

Here is Kissinger basically saying that Obama must make clear what kind of government he wants in Iran. The president of the United States has to decide what kind of government he wants in Iran?? Since when is Iran part of the United States? If the coup is unsuccessful and a "popularly based" government does not emerge, then WE the United States must work for regime change in Iran from the outside. This is an indicted war criminal making threats against a sovereign nation.

  1. Why wouldn't you be a fan of Iran's current government? Their main goal is to destroy evil Isreal and America. They dont even have big evil corporations in Iran with bankers that control the government. Their media isn't controlled like ours is. Maybe Iran's leaders think that the country of palestine is being opressed by isreal just like you guys do, and they just want whats best for the world.
It's so funny that you guys think our media is controlled by the government. We have fox news and msnbc - 2 opposites that bash the government all the time with no consequences. Imagine where an Iranian news reporter would end up after making critical remarks about their own leaders. They would end up in jail, dead, or tortured because places like Iran actually HAVE a government controlled media. Most countries do, but our people are so spoiled and unknowledgeable about the rest of the world, they think america is like that, and that it's even worse than most other countries when it's really one of the best countries that ever existed.

  2. Another funny thing is that all the people who were against regime change in iraq actually want regime change in iran.
All the people that wanted Bush to leave Iraq alone, want Obama to do more in Iran.
And i dont even see much of a difference between the situations. Both countries had tons of oil and tyranical dictators and citizens that wanted our help.

  3. ...and IQ lives!!! :D

Iran has one of the most conservative governments around. Nevermind that it was a democracy before the US fueled revolution created the current theocracy in the first place, today it is one of the most closed societies in the middle east. (Although Saudia Arabia is much more conservative, but since it plays along with the Western interests it doesn't get much bad press.)
Iran got on our bad side as soon as the Shah turned on its puppet masters and decided to curb Western influences.

Today's riots are fueled by internal strife, by the materialistic and young population wanting everything the rest of the world has. This has nothing to do with their relation to the west. They want freedom to travel, the freedom to study abroad, the freedom to voice their opinions, freedom of press (at least to US levels), and the freedom to protest without getting their bare asses dragged across the desert pavement. But don't think for a second, they will allow the US or Israel to tell them they can't have nuclear power or what kind of vegetables they can or cant import. They want internal freedom, but will still reject the world power structure as it is! And rightly so!

They don't want formal American help because that comes with formal obligations. In international relations who would help for the sake of kindness? Its an internal problem they want to solve internally.

Today you see conservatives, right-wingers and Jewish groups lobbying for even harder rhetoric from Obama. Same people who were arguing FOR the Iraq war. Left-wingers seem more concerned with the obvious violation of people's liberties during the protests.

Despite obvious CIA meddling, Obama's backseat approach is what should be done. And its only natural that whatever happens they will try to influence the outcome to suit their needs.

  4. I just disagree with the part where you said "Left-wingers seem more concerned with the obvious violation of people's liberties during the protests." Actually, the left wingers think if a D does something it's ok, and if an R does the same thing, it's not ok.The left wingers sure werent concerned about the Iraqi peoples liberties.

But Obamas approach is ok with me so far. It's the same approach Ron Paul would take.
